Ray co-founded RemoteHamRadio.com and Radio Echo Communications. These ventures specialize in building and maintaining high-performance remote radio stations across the United States and tower construction, boasting over 50 towers and 300 antennas. His flagship stations in Eastport and Jonesport, Maine, are renowned for their advanced infrastructure and have been featured on CQ Magazine cover. w2re.com.
In addition to his technical endeavors, Ray is the CEO of Hudson Valley Towers Inc., a company specializing in tower construction and maintenance of the RHR sites. Ray has also created Ham Radio 24-7, a media platform dedicated to educating and providing high-quality content for amateur radio enthusiasts around the world. His commitment to excellence is evident in the world-class stations he has developed, which serve as benchmarks in the industry.
🏡 Personal Life and Philosophy
Ray resides in Poughquag, New York, where he owns a station located on a 1,300-foot ridge in the Hudson Valley. He also owns a hilltop property in the Northern Catskills, offering a 360-degree drop-off and a low noise floor, ideal for DX operations and contesting. And many other locations including W1/Jonesport and W1/Eastport. Despite his demanding career, Ray emphasizes the importance of family and fitness, often engaging in strength training and spending quality time with his wife, Lori (KB2HZI), and their three children.

Beyond his technical achievements, Ray is dedicated to promoting amateur radio through youth programs and live-streamed operations. He led the WW1X team—a group of young operators under 21—in a distributed contesting effort that showcased the potential of remote technology in competitive ham radio.
